Michael Barker BSc MRICS is a Chartered Building Surveyor at Grumitt Wade Mason.
Building a career
Michael joined Grumitt Wade Mason in 2012, after graduating from Brighton University with a degree in Building Surveying.
An enthusiastic sportsman, Michael studied Sports Science at Chichester College, West Sussex and used to run and play golf for Sussex before turning his attention to the world of construction. A spell of work experience with quantity surveyors and building surveyors confirmed his new direction.
Michael lives in Hove with his wife and recently they were pleased to announce the birth of their son, Ralph.
Constructing better lives
Now a Building Surveyor, Michael loves the human interaction of working with clients, and finds the work he does on disability projects very rewarding – helping to change people’s lives for the better.
An energetic approach
Since graduating, Michael has taken up running again with an athletics club (keep an eye out for tweets about his triumphs on the Grumitt Wade Mason Twitter feed) and enjoys travelling (his gap year itinerary took in New Zealand, Australia, Fiji and Thailand) and going to music festivals in the summer.
