Robert Mobbs

Robert started as an Assistant Surveyor here at Grumitt Wade Mason in 2021.   On a typical day, Robert carries out defect diagnosis – investigating and reporting on specific problems and suggesting appropriate courses of action, writing up specifications for proposed works, drawing up of plans and assisting other surveyors with their project work.  The hands-on nature of the work is allowing him to gain further valuable experience in all aspects of Surveying and Construction.

He studied for his two passions: Automotive Engineering and Building Surveying; achieving a BTEC HNC in Automotive Engineering and accomplishing a first in his BSc (Hons) in Building Surveying at the University of Brighton.  Other qualifications include a City & Guilds in 2D AutoCAD.

After working as an Acoustic Technician at Ricardo in Shoreham, he went to work for the Building Research Establishment as a building consultant/technician, supporting a team of building specialists for a number of years, where he built up a wealth of knowledge and experience that he was able to apply to his career as a Surveyor.

Robert is a keen cyclist and can often be seen darting along the clifftops on his daily commute.  Other interests include kayaking, running, reading and motor sports.
